Okay folks, I'm still not happy with performance here. Rate-limiting Mastodon has helped significantly, but I feel like I could do so much more with another CPU core. !gnusocial !postactiv

Had to restart my !gnusocial / !postactiv stack today because MySQL kept timing out when acquiring a lock.
When are we going to support a real database instead of only a toy?

That feel when your queue is knocking out 7-20 items per second but is still above 1,000 because more items keep getting thrown into it at the same rate. !gnusocial !postactiv !fediverse

After due consideration, I have decided to shut down the instance of !gnusocial at https://cybernude.org/ . It's broken and it appears unlikely to be fixable. I'm not happy about this--it's my only means of contact with most of you. But this is broken. And when stuff fails to function properly, I wonder what it's doing other than what it should. Which is to say, it becomes a !security risk.

@vinilox I think will be a good idea to #rename your !GNUsocial group, otherwise we will have problems recreating the group on another instance when status.vinilox.eu will be sadly shut down
