We've fined Apple over €1.8 billion over abusive App Store rules for music streaming providers.

For a decade, Apple abused its dominant position by restricting developers from informing consumers about alternative, cheaper music services available outside of the Apple ecosystem.

This is illegal under #EU #antitrust rules.

@EU_Commission how about shutting down all the 'data brokers' who have spent the last 20 years illegally stealing our personal data and are carrying on like the law is an inconvenience?

@EU_Commission Hope you enjoy those 30 Silver coins you've got from Spotify.

Another proof that whoever on your administration is in charge of this, has no clue about digital markets or what you're doing.

@EU_Commission please take action against Microsoft too. They are abusing their power.

@heluecht @EU_Commission And ppl are not forced to buy  products. But somehow against the hostile environment that the EU paints, their products are very popular.

It is a free market. Users can choose Spotify as easily as  Music. Or they can buy another manufacturer’s phone and root it, have 30 app stores and so on. It’s not about the users. It’s about multi billion dollar companies wanting to reach  users without paying what they owe to Apple.
