I'm curious what alternative frontends are compatible with Friendica.

Turns out latest Soapbox actually added explicit support only last week, quite the coincidence. Sadly it seems Mangane is a hard fork and hasn't merged Soapbox for a long time, their changelog.md is from two years ago.

Has anyone tried Halcyon on Friendica? And what was the name of that maintained Pinafore fork?

I'm mostly just curious, and I really like Frio, Friendica's most "modern" FE (Friendica ships several and allows easy switching by the user). In fact I think it would be interesting if someone made something Frio-like for Mastodon/Pleroma.

I searched for "semaphore" "friendica" but only saw some old issues regarding threading internals in the Friendica backend.

Sounds like @heluecht got Friendica working with Halcyon and Pinafore last year! That's cool.

Oh cool, ddg indexed me so that I'm the one search hit when looking for "pinafore" "friendica". 🤣
