   I'm quite sure that starter packs are one key reason BlueSky is growing so fast. It's a genuine innovation in this space and Mastodon/fed need it yesterday.

     @dangillmor @fisherstudio Starter packs are lists of contacts. So for example you are interested in people posting furry pictures, so you import the curated list of accounts that post about this topic.

     Concerning hashtags: Bluesky has got custom feeds, which are hashtags on steroids, since these feeds can filter posts via self written algorithms.

     @dangillmor On a service you cannot search (in many cases) as a feature, I'm not sure how some of them would work. You can follow hashtags here. Is that not about the same thing?
