    @mwlucas I just tried to use blacklistd to protect my host's sshd and it seems I can't get this to work either. I added UseBlacklist yes to the sshd_config and restarted it. But blacklistd doesnt receive any events according to blacklistctl.

    Either I am missing something, or sshd's UseBlacklist is broken on FreeBSD 12 (very unlikely to be honest).

      I spent the evening trying to get the hosts blacklistd to protect a jailed sshd (unsuccessful). Then I asked myself: why not leverage VNET? But VNET documentation is scarce (or my google-fu is too weak).

      Maybe I should throw some money at @mwlucas and hope that #fmjail unveils some of these mysteries...

      @mwlucas As expected, it was my fault. My test client I used to connect to the sshd was missing an ssh-key an thus didn't even try to connect to the server.

      If I am doing it right, it works.
