@pettter My problem with these people, especially tante: they mix persons and things. To dislike rms is no biggie. But to dislike/avoid/whatever free software just because of him is irrational and childish.

@pettter That said: what kind of "criticism" is calling Eric Raymond "creepy"? That's just disgusting.

@pettter "In the 90s, Richard Stallman's attitude towards women alienated me (& many others) from any interest in or support for "free software." […]Our drive now for diversity/inclusion wasn't even conceivable until we discarded GNU, Stallman, & "free software" in favor of "open source."
To me that sounds more like crucifying FSF, rms and everything linked to it. Speaking of a community culture, this is what Sarah Mei attracts: people demanding rms stepping down and other FSF staff to be fired. https://gnusocial.de/url/3431043
Furthermore flaming for hours on Twitter is a real good example of "had the culture been different".

@tomas @adrint I personally have no doubts that these things happen. Not always, not always exactly as told - but they happen. I am aware of the problems our society has. But killing fire with fire like libreboot (or at least the person in charge of their website) does right now? Lowering own discussion standards doesn't strengthen one's opinon. https://gnusocial.de/attachment/3431066

@mangeurdenuage Yes I'm the admin, it works for me. I suspect some script/css blocking feature on your side.
-
@mangeurdenuage That's strange. Do you have this issue just on gnusocial.de or on some other nodes runnin Qvitter like quitter.se, quitter.is or gnusocial.net too?
-
@mangeurdenuage Can you try it again? It should be fixed now.
-
@mangeurdenuage I made some changes to the sidebar text yesterday. I guess there some HTML code got messed up.
-
@mangeurdenuage No, but it only affected users not logged in here. That's why I didn't see it myself as well.
-
@mangeurdenuage Yeah. Or just not touch that code again. :)
Thanks for reporting!
